Bulphan in Bloom

LATEST NEWS:

The Open Gardens Day: another successful Open Gardens Day was held on Sunday, 27th June.  It was extraordinarily hot and there was competition from the football - but with 10 beautiful gardens to visit, the jazz band and strawberry teas at the church, the minibuses were kept very busy ferrying visitors around the village.

Katie Allott won first prize in the Chair for All Seasons competition (a person made of recycled items, in a chair, incorporating plants).  Well done, Katie.

Bulphan won a Gold Award in Anglia in Bloom AND Best Village and are now finalists in Britain in Bloom!

Bulphan in Bloom has been set up under the "umbrella" of Bulphan Village Community Forum, and the Forum has allocated several set-up grants to help this new committee and their volunteers improve and beautify our village.

The story so far

Bulphan in Bloom (BIB) is now in its third year of entering the Anglia in Bloom competition. This is a competition held for all towns and villages in Anglia to be judged for their community gardening.

We entered in 2008 scooping a Silver Gilt Award and best newcomer for only 3 months work when most villages take years to gain this recognition. 2009 saw us get the prestigious Gold Award and overall best Medium Village - with the judges saying they were "blown over by Bulphan"!  Our committee worked tirelessly with the help of residents to make this possible. Bulphan in Bloom would like to say a big thank you to all who help and support us.

2010 -We have impressed the Anglia in Bloom judges to such an extent, they have selected Bulphan to represent them in the RHS Britain in Bloom competition.
